Description The Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science (EEMCS) is known worldwide for its high academic quality and the social relevance of its research programmes. The faculty's excellent facilities accentuate its international position in teaching and research. Within this interdisciplinary and international setting the faculty employs more than 1100 employees, including about 400 graduate students and about 2100 students. Together they work on a broad range of technical innovations in the fields of sustainable energy, telecommunications, microelectronics, embedded systems, computer and software engineering, interactive multimedia and applied mathematics. With 11 IEEE Fellows among the staff, an excellent microfabrication infrastructure, electrical and physical characterisation facilities, and a strong international academic and industrial network, the department provides high-level expertise in each of these areas throughout the entire system chain. Within the distributed radar program, the Microwave Sensing, Signals and Systems group performs research on building situation awareness with multiple spatially distributed sensors (ground and crowd surveillance, weather and automotive radars). Our group performs theoretical and experimental research over a complete chain of radar operation, ranging from electromagnetic waves radiation, propagation and scattering through analogue and digital microwave signal processing to detection, positioning and tracking, navigation, classification and imaging of objects in complex environments. Your tasks will be as follows: You will be implementing software for Radar Data Processing, Radar Control, Data Visualization for the same radars;You will support of experimental Radar Research, System Measurements, Testing and Performance Verification by development of test software and operating such software during tests.You will be responsible of maintaining the current code, creating new software for new projects, documentation and testing.Because of requirements of the Dutch government, we are looking for EEU citizens. A minimum of 3 years' Experience on embedded software development using different microprocessors and processors. Acquaintance with signal processing, experience with high throughput data processing and parallel processing (CUDA/OpenCL) Outstanding programming skills in both C and C++, ability to reverse engineer the code. Experience of FPGA is a plus Basic knowledge of analog and digital electronics Experience in configuration management Strongly developed analytical skills, interest for innovation and focus on quality, creative, hands-on, self-started and self-learner. Open to work on her/his own Good skills in written reporting, knowledge about software requirement analysis, design and test procedures Good communication skills in English. Conditions of employment
