Job description
We offer a one-year postdoctoral position funded by the SASS project "listening to data". The scope of the project is to build longitudinal models of online conversations between minors on the "kindertelefoon" forum, which is focused on helping children that are experiencing personal issues. Many of the minors we are looking at have suffered difficult or traumatic experiences and do not address these directly in their messages. The position focuses on discovering patterns in the children's posts over time, with the goals of (1) optimising the structure of the forum to support useful interaction, (2) recognising signs of underlying issues that are not mentioned explicitly and (3) tracking the emergence and waning of issues that children tend to face, in order to inform policymakers.

* Responsibilities
You will be responsible for modelling the contents of, relationships between, and evolution of messages posted by children on forums. You will collaborate with experts at the "kindertelefoon" organisation to inform and validate your work.

Your profile
You are ambitious and passionate about using technology to improve people's lives.

You have strong analytical and conceptual skills.
You are an open, creative thinker.
You have a strong interest in societal relevance.
