Research Assistant in Electrical and Electronic Engineering University of Hong Kong Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering

Research Assistant I/II in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of the Faculty of Engineering (Ref: 500359) (to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree or above with a background in Physics/Applied Physics/Engineering/Materials Science, and have demonstrated knowledge and experience in optical microscopy, lasers, optics and related areas. Technical experience in optically detected magnetic resonance technique, scanning near-field optical microscopy, atomic force microscopy, nanofabrication and nanophotonics will be highly desirable. Applicants should be highly self-motivated; have excellent communication skills in written and spoken English; and have the ability to work independently. Applicants with less qualification and experience may be considered for appointment as Research Assistant II.

The appointee will be involved in a research project that mainly involves developing quantum diamond sensing platform and will work under the supervision of Dr. Zhiqin Chu. Detailed enquiries about the duties of the post should be sent to Dr. Zhiqin Chu at zqchu@eee.hku.hk.
