The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering is seeking candidates for a non-tenure track position at the level of Research Assistant Professor. This is a 12-month non-tenure-accruing faculty position available at the Florida Institute for Cybersecurity (FICS) Research in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering and the University of Florida.

The preferred candidate will have experience in hardware security research, particularity in the areas conducting research on physical attacks and countermeasures on nanoscale circuits by using photon emission microscopes, laser scanning microscopes, probe stations and FIB-SEM instruments, as well as with security features of field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs). Experience in research and development, and collaborations between academia, industry and/or government entities are also highly preferred. The candidate is also expected to co-supervise PhD students in the laboratory, as well as develop and write new research proposals to obtain external research funding.

Duties will include, but not be limited to, conducting research on nanoscale circuits, especially optical attacks, such as photon emission analyses (PEM), optical contactless probing, and thermal laser stimulations (TLS), as well as designing and prototyping countermeasures against physical attacks. Primary responsibilities will also include project management and working collaboratively with FICS Research faculty, as well as with their sponsors and partners to manage grant-funded projects and establish new pathways to future collaborations, mentoring master and PhD students, and writing proposals for industry/government-level funding agencies.

 

Qualifications
In order to be considered for this position, candidates must possess a PhD in electrical engineering or a related field and at least 1 year of post-doctoral work experience and/or some project management or teachingexperience.
