Your commitment

Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Public Relations, the Section Head, Communications is responsible for developing and implementing CNA-Q's strategies for Communications to support and advance CNA-Q's brand and positioning in the market. S/he will manage and promote the reputation and public image of the College as well as ensure consistent and brand supportive internal messaging through established communication channels within the College community. The Communications Section Head will develop strong working relationships with media and serve as the key contact to oversee and manage all media interactions, including guiding and preparing senior management and academic staff during media interviews and speaking engagements and handling message development and monitoring during emergency and crisis situations that could impact the College's brand. S/he will collaborate with Student Affairs, all Schools and Senior / Executive management to develop plans for and execute events and will extend support to other stakeholders for content management of the College's intranet site, electronic signage and production of newsletter, flyers and internal events as required. Coaching and managing direct subordinates through professional development support and periodic performance reviews is expected. S/he will contribute to the development and implementation of policies, procedures, processes, guidelines governing all aspects of the Communications Section.

Your qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in Marketing and Communications or related field, plus a minimum eight years of employment experience in Communications or related field, with some managerial experience is required.  A Master's degree is preferred. Knowledge of communications, public relations, media relations management and communications planning and execution is required. Exemplary communication, leadership, time management and interpersonal skills are essential. Candidates must demonstrate knowledge of resource management and quality and risk management. Collaborative decision-making skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with college and community stakeholders is required. Candidates must demonstrate intercultural competence, including intercultural sensitivity and adaptability, and the ability to conduct oneself appropriately and effectively in another culture. Expert fluency in written and spoken English is required.
