DEVELOPER / SOFTWARE DEVELOPER DIGITAL TWINING FOR MATERIAL AND PROCESS MODELING
The Fraunhofer Institute for Algorithms and Scientific Computing SCAI, with its approximately 170 employees, develops and provides innovative methods in the field of scientific computing and their implementation in industrial practice.

The Multiphysics business unit develops software solutions for multidisciplinary simulation applications in the industrial environment. In the project "MpCCI Analytics Toolbox" starting in fall 2019, we want to design and implement solutions for digital twins for material and process modeling. A particular challenge lies in the validation of the virtual simulation models by means of corresponding data from real measuring processes, eg. As measured curves and video recordings of drop tests with filled liquid containers or the fluttering of seals in piping systems. So far, there are hardly any methods with which a systematic and automated comparison of transient simulation results with real measurement progressions is possible. The goal of this project "MpCCI Analytics Toolbox" is

 

Your tasks include:

Integration of data sources from simulation and experiment
Preparation of video and measurement data via pattern recognition and image analysis
Matching the data with corresponding measures of similarity, distance, and correlation
Application of machine learning methods for design support
Generation of data-based substitute models

What you bring

A successfully completed university degree in computer science, mathematics, physics, mechanical engineering (master / diploma) or in a comparable discipline - a doctorate in this environment is an advantage
Experience in the implementation of larger software packages
First experience in the field of image recognition and / or machine learning
Ideally, you also have:

Interest and joy in the realization and implementation of operational software products for demanding tasks / questions
First experience in the processing of applications from the industry
First practical experience in numerical simulation
