in the field of „Semi­con­duc­tor com­pon­ents and micro­elec­tro­nic sys­tems“.

Work­ing field:

Rese­arch in the field of elec­tro­nic devices, high-fre­quency and THz devices, power semi­con­duct­ors as well as multi-func­tio­nal sys­tem integ­ra­tion in basic as well as in devel­op­ment and app­lic­a­tion areas. Par­ti­cip­a­tion in the rese­arch cen­ter "Microperi­phe­ric Tech­no­lo­gies" of the TU Ber­lin in the fields of phys­ical design of devices and sys­tems, char­ac­ter­iz­a­tion and test­ing of elec­tro­nic devices and sys­tems as well as semi­con­duc­tor and micro­elec­tro­nic tech­no­lo­gies. Coo­per­a­tion with Fraun­ho­fer IZM pos­sible.
Per­form­ing sub­ject-rela­ted teach­ing tasks in the Bach­elor's and Mas­ter's degree pro­gram­mes in Elec­tri­cal Engin­eer­ing and Com­puter Engin­eer­ing, will­ing­ness to take on com­puls­ory cour­ses in the Bach­elor's degree pro­gramme as well as in ser­vice for other sci­ent­i­fic and tech­nical dis­cip­lines.

Require­ments:

Can­did­ates should ful­fil the require­ments for appoint­ment at the pro­fes­sor level in com­pli­ance with § 100 Ber­lHG (Ber­lin Hig­her Edu­ca­tion Act), includ­ing a com­ple­ted aca­demic edu­ca­tion, qual­i­fied achieve­ments in rese­arch (gen­er­ally pro­ven by PhD), addi­tio­nal rese­arch achieve­ments (Habil­it­a­tion, post-doc­toral teach­ing, or equi­val­ent qual­i­fic­a­tion) and ped­ago­gical didac­tic qual­i­fic­a­tions, to be given proof of by a teach­ing port­fo­lio (for more inform­a­tion see TUB web­site, quick access no. 144242).
In addi­tion, pro­ven expert­ise in the­or­et­ical and exper­i­men­tal rese­arch in at least one of the above areas is expec­ted. Rel­ev­ant inter­na­tio­nal exper­i­ence as well as exper­i­ence in per­son­nel man­age­ment, the organ­isa­tion of com­plex pro­jects and the acquis­i­tion of third-party funds are desir­able. Pro­ven prac­tical (e.g. indus­trial) exper­i­ence is con­side­red an advant­age.
App­lic­ants are reques­ted to sub­mit a first con­cept of the rese­arch and teach­ing activ­it­ies envis­aged with their app­lic­a­tion. Exper­i­ence in the acquis­i­tion of exter­nal fund­ing above aver­age is desi­red.
The will­ing­ness to offer teach­ing in Ger­man as well as in Eng­lish lan­guage is also a pre­requis­ite. Very good Eng­lish lan­guage skills are requi­red. The will­ing­ness to learn Ger­man is expec­ted from Non-Ger­man speak­ing app­lic­ants.
