The Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU) is one of the most renowned and largest universities in Germany.


The chair holder (m / w / d) is supposed to represent statistics and econometrics in teaching and research.


One of the tasks of the professorship is to adequately represent econometrics as a branch of statistics, especially with a focus on data science and the analysis of massive data, in research and teaching. The teaching tasks aim at a committed participation in the whole range of events for students of statistics in the major and minor subject. The acquisition of third-party funds and the participation in the Statistical Consulting Laboratory are expressly encouraged.

The Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich (LMU) would like to gain a well-qualified personality who has demonstrated her academic qualification following her university studies, as well as an above-average doctorate or comparable aptitude through internationally visible, excellent achievements in research and teaching.


In case of employment as a civil servant, the age of 52 may not be completed at the time of appointment. In urgent cases, exceptions may be allowed.
