Professorship for Instructional Technology with focus on Computer Science Didactics Johannes Kepler University Linz, School of Education Austria

Tasks of the applicant:

  • Research in the field of Instructional Technology
  • Courses for Bachelor, Master and Doctorate students in the Lehramtstudien of the LSEd, especially in the field of computer science didactics
  • Supervision of Bachelor's, Master's and PhD's in STEM Education, especially computer science didactics. Within the framework of the LSEd Doctoral School, an additional postdoctoral position for Instructional Technology is also planned.
  • Acquiring funding for research and teacher training
  • Interdisciplinary cooperation with local and international colleagues
  • Further development of co-operation with national and international universities and STEM organizations
  • Support for Lehramtsstudierende und Kollegs regarding the effective use of instructional design strategies, web-based materials, multimedial technologies and online courses
  • Development of further training opportunities for colleagues in the areas of Instructional Design and Instructional Technology

Expected qualifications of applicants:

  • Habilitation or equivalent PostDoc experience in the field of Instructional Technology
  • Teacher experience in teacher training and willingness to take care of bachelor, master and doctorate students
  • Experience with interdisciplinary work in STEM Education or beyond
  • Scientific publications in international journals as well as active contributions to international conferences
  • Successful recruitment of third-party funding for research
  • Knowledge of effective teaching methods to promote pupil learning
  • Very good knowledge of spoken and written English

The task of the position holder will be to represent and further develop the subject in teaching and research. Furthermore, the willingness to take over administrative tasks of university self-administration is expected. In addition to the key content qualifications, particular attention is paid to the aspect of social competence.

The collective agreement provided for annual minimum gross salary is € 67,797.80, the actual gross salary is for the negotiation by the rector.
