Job Summary
The MiChart (Epic) support team at Michigan Medicine seeks an Application Coordinator to develop, support and maintain Epic Ambulatory, Patient Portal (MyChart), Nurse Triage or Population Health functionality and workflows. The Application Coordinator must have at least one Epic Certification.

 

Responsibilities*
The Application Coordinator is responsible for the following tasks:

Maintain regular communication with Epic representatives.
Work with Epic representatives and the U-M business community and end users to ensure the system meets the organization's business needs.
Understand the options involved in application specifications.
Perform in-depth analysis of workflows, to design configuration options
Investigate end users' preference while making build decisions.
Analyze business operations as they relate to build decisions.
Prioritize and implement requested changes to the system.
Collaborate with internal (MiChart/HITS) and external teams (Epic) on integrated issues and configuration
Coordinate the life cycle of a change (design, build, test, educate, communicate)
Coordinate software updates and changes.

 

Review and test each new release.
Collect information regarding potential system enhancement needs.
Analyze new functionality in releases to determine how it should be used
Prepare details of specifications as needed.
Comply with internal procedures to use in conjunction with Epic applications.

Utilize standard naming and numbering conventions and security classifications using the Epic Style Guide for Master File Naming and Numbering Conventions.
Comply with integrated build guidelines
Comply with MiChart and HITS change control processes
Comply with environment management processes (including central data courier)
Maintain complete Analysis/requirement/build documentation in Service Now
Participate in troubleshooting issues

Assist end users with problematic configuration
Escalate issues to Epic for resolution
Team

Take on call responsibilities as assigned by manager
Participate as knowledge owner for specific functionality as assigned by manager
Assist other AC's with functionality in which you are the knowledge owner
Achieve additional certification as assigned by manger
Train other AC's on functionality when additional certification is achieved
Provide support and maintenance for virtual care and remote patient monitoring platforms.


Required Qualifications*
Qualifications for Senior Position:

A Bachelor's degree of better in information systems or related field.
5 years' related experience in healthcare or related field.
Ability to work collaboratively with teams of all sizes. Ability to multi task complex work assignments.
Exceptional communication skills, professional image, confidence in managing complex business systems.
Must have at least one Epic Certification.
Qualifications for Intermediate Position:

A Bachelor's degree of better in information systems or related field.
2-3 years' experience in healthcare or related field.
Ability to work collaboratively with teams of all sizes. Ability to multi task complex work assignments.
Exceptional communication skills, professional image, confidence in managing complex business systems.
Must have at least one Epic Certification.
Desired Qualifications*
Experience and certification in an Epic application (EpicCare Ambulatory, MyChart). Business Analysis and workflow experience.
Experience with file export/import, server maintenance, batch jobs. Basic knowledge of programming language, database concepts and server architecture.
Proficient in excel.
