The Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, York University invites highly qualified candidates to apply for a professorial stream tenure-track appointment in Computer Engineering at the rank of Assistant Professor, to commence on or after July 1, 2021. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. All York University positions are subject to budgetary approval.

A PhD in computer engineering or a closely related field is required by the start date, with a demonstrated record of excellence or promise of excellence in research and in teaching. Applicants should be licensed as a Professional Engineer in Canada, or successfully seek licensure soon after appointment.

Applicants should have a clearly articulated program of research in digital systems hardware areas such as: computer architecture, hardware for embedded, mobile, wearable or cyber-physical computing systems, hardware-software codesign, configurable and application-specific hardware, dependable and secure computing hardware, energy/reliability/security-aware VLSI systems, computer-aided design, testing and verification of digital systems.

Candidates must provide evidence of research excellence or promise of excellence, as demonstrated by, for example: the research statement; a record of publications in significant journals in the field; presentations at major conferences; awards and accolades; and recommendations from referees of high standing. The position will involve graduate teaching and supervision and the successful candidate must be suitable for prompt appointment to the Faculty of Graduate Studies.

Evidence of excellence or promise of excellence in teaching the core courses in our undergraduate computer engineering program will be provided through such means as: the teaching statement; teaching accomplishments and pedagogical innovations including in high priority areas such as experiential education and technology enhanced learning; teaching evaluations; and letters of reference.
