Duties include research, field development, assessment tasks, grant applications, outreach and collaborative activities, and research management, such as supervising and training research fellows and other staff. The successful applicant must also teach, supervise, prepare, and participate in examinations and fulfill other tasks requested by the department.

The associate professorship applicants will be assessed primarily on their documented, original scientific production at an international level, including contributions to developments in their field, and their documented teaching qualifications. Managerial, outreach, and collaborative qualifications, including their ability to attract external funding, will also be considered.
