The offered position is at Assistant Professor level. Our department is looking for a mathematician with a strong research profile and proven expertise in Mathematical Statistics, as witnessed by an excellent track record of publications. While advancing fundamental research, you will also contribute to teaching and supervision across our educational programmes. The Department of Mathematics offers programmes in Mathematics and Business Analytics, and is actively involved in service teaching to other departments within the Faculty of Science. We are particularly interested in candidates who can bridge the gap between theory and practice. In addition to developing and delivering high-quality teaching, you will play a key role in connecting our students and research to the world outside academia. Examples include supervising Business Analytics students in applied projects with industry partners, initiating collaborations with external organisations, and fostering links that enrich both education and research. The appointment of Assistant Professor is initially for 18 months and leads into a permanent contract. After a positive evaluation at the end of the first year, based on transparent criteria, the initial contract will be converted to a permanent position. Furthermore, a 5-year career track from Assistant Professor 2 (scale 11; UD2) to Assistant Professor 1 (scale 12; UD1) is offered. Based on full-time employment, and depending on experience, the gross monthly salary ranges from €4,728 to €7,297 in accordance with Dutch academic salary scale 11 or 12. The job profile (Assistant Professor or Universitair Docent) is based on the Dutch university job ranking system and the position is available for 0.8–1.0 FTE.
