Job Description:

The Department of Mathematics & Natural Science in the College of Arts and Science at GUST invites applicants for a full-time faculty position in Applied Mathematics to start in Fall 2024. Preference will be given to candidates whose research field relates to Numerical Analysis, Scientific computing, and/ or Big Data. The successful candidate will teach, among others, Mathematics courses for Computer Science and Engineering majors (Calculus 1,2,3, Differential Equations, and Numerical Analysis), as well as General Education mathematics courses such as: College Algebra, Basic Calculus, and Basic Probability & Statistics. Proven record of high-quality research activity is viewed as a major asset. The State of Kuwait does not recognize degrees from online universities.

Minimum Qualifications:

The applicant must have completed a Ph.D. in Mathematics or any related field from a reputable North American (U.S. or Canada) or Western European university with an extensive teaching experience. The ideal candidate should have a strong commitment to quality teaching, have a strong academic record of scholarly related activity and quality research. He/she should possess excellent communication skills in English, must be ambitious, self-motivated, hard-working, with the ability to work both individually and as part of a team.
