The Department of Engineering at Thompson Rivers University is a recent initiative to offer the BEng Software Engineering program.

The department is seeking to hire highly qualified individual for One (01) Tenure-Track Position at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor \ Associate Teaching Professor beginning January 01, 2024.

Qualifications:

  1. The successful candidate must possess a PhD in Software Engineering or an equivalent discipline from a recognized university, and candidate’s teaching and research experience must be within the core areas of Software Engineering.
  2. The candidate must have an undergraduate degree in an engineering discipline from a recognized university.
  3. Candidate should demonstrate expertise to teach majority of the following courses in the areas of Software Engineering:
  • Realtime System Design
  • Cloud Computing Programming
  • Software Engineering Design
  • Software Engineering for Game Development
  • Safety Critical Systems
  • Computer Architecture

Preference will be given to candidate who currently have a valid Full Professional Engineer license from any of the professional engineers associations within Canadian jurisdiction. Candidate must report in their CV their current professional engineer license status. However, successful candidate is required to become registered with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of the Province of British Columbia within the first three years of their initial appointment.

Demonstrated knowledge or familiarity with CEAB (Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board) accreditation process is a valuable asset.
