The person selected will join the UOC's Faculty of Information and Communication Sciences.


UOC faculty promote and direct distance learning in their fields of expertise. Particular attention must be given to the preparation of programmes of study, course contents and teaching materials, as well as the supervision and coordination of students' learning processes. Faculty members are also responsible for driving innovation, especially in terms of methods and techniques used in distance learning and research activities in their fields of expertise.

The successful candidate will be awarded an open-ended, full-time contract. Scheduled start date: October 2019.

The place of work will be the UOC's Tibidabo centre, Av. Tibidabo, 39, Barcelona.


PhD in journalism or communication.
Knowledge and experience of teaching methodology, ie course design, planning and running of teaching activities, and design of teaching materials and assessment tools.
Knowledge of and experience using multimedia journalism tools.
Experience teaching digital journalism and communication to university students.
Strong knowledge in other areas of communication studies.
Research experience including work published in respected journals.
Ability to lead academic and scientific projects.
English language skills at CEFR level B2, ie First Certificate equivalent.
Good interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills.
A high level of initiative, and organization and teamwork skills.
Also of interest:

Experience in online teaching.
Knowledge of the UOC's educational model.
Experience disseminating and transferring knowledge.
