School of Mathematics and Science Lecturer (Data Science and Artificial Intelligence) The job of an academic is challenging and meaningful. Not only will he/she have both the knowledge and working experience, he/she must also possess a passion for working with youths, nurturing and moulding their characters. There will be opportunities to develop the curriculum, introduce new courses as well as be involved in consultancy and other applied research projects. Administrative work related to teaching and School/Institutional strategic initiatives will be an important part of the job. The successful candidates will be expected to be resourceful and innovative with initiative and good communication skills. The appointee must be competent to teach at diploma and higher levels in the following areas: Data Analytics/Predictive Analytics Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning In addition, it will be an advantage if the appointee is able to teach in any one of the following areas: Engineering Mathematics Statistics Computing Responsibilities:- Conduct lessons, create teaching and assessment materials and mentoring of students Develop and maintain new or existing teaching curriculum for modules stated above Undertake projects or consultancy work with both internal and external stakeholders, especially in the area of data science and AI Requirements:- Passionate about education and possess strong interest in teaching and mentoring students Self-driven, independent and possess readiness to work as a team People-oriented individual with strong interpersonal, written and communication skills Relevant qualification in the field of Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or Statistics Possess experience in programming data-based applications in SQL, R, or Python and tools such as Power BI, MicroStrategy or D3.js Relevant industry experience in cloud computing, database architecture, use of AI algorithms, data analysis, learning analytics, machine learning, statistical modelling or developing data products Closing Date: 21 Jul 2020 If you are shortlisted for the position(s), you should hear from us within 30 days of the closing date of the advertisement.
