Position Description

The University of Washington (UW) Tacoma invites applications for a Part-Time Lecturer of Mathematics in the Division of Science and Mathematics within the School of Interdisciplinary Arts & Sciences (SIAS).  This is a part-time non-tenured position with a 9-month service period and will begin September 16, 2023. The successful candidate will teach five or six courses in mathematics in the 2023-24 academic year (55-66% FTE). These courses will likely include introductory statistics, precalculus and/or calculus.  Courses will be distributed across three academic quarters with no more than three courses assigned in any single quarter. This position is renewable, contingent on funding and curricular need. The course load/FTE for reappointments may be variable across years.

The salary range for this position will be $583 - $612 per month for 9-months per 5-credit course (base: $5250 total per course; $26,250 9-month salary for 5 courses) commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. Qualifications

This position requires an earned master’s (or foreign equivalent) in mathematics or related field at the time of appointment. The successful applicant will have been the instructor of record for at least two section(s) of college mathematics.
