Description

NYU Shanghai is currently inviting applications for several visiting faculty positions in Mathematics. The Mathematics area at NYU Shanghai operates in collaboration with the Courant Institute and interacts with East China Normal University.

Visiting faculty positions are generally for one or two semesters, but longer terms may be discussed. Teaching commitments include teaching two to three courses per year.

Terms of employment at NYU Shanghai are comparable to NYU New York and other U.S. institutions.


Qualifications

  • Candidates must have completed a Ph.D. in Mathematics by the time of appointment.

  • Applications are invited from candidates in any domain of mathematics.

  • The search is not restricted to any rank; all levels of seniority will be considered, although applicants are generally expected to have at least three years of experience after their Ph.D.

  • Curriculum vitae

  • A statement on current/future research interests

  • A statement of teaching interests

  • An electronic copy of three selected publications via Interfolio

Additionally, applicants at the level of Visiting Assistant and Associate positions should provide the names and email addresses of at least three referees. Each referee will be contacted to upload a reference letter through Interfolio.

It is strongly recommended to submit applications before December 1, 2025, although later applications will also be considered if positions have not been filled.
