Job Summary Purdue University Global offers term-by-term, non-tenured teaching appointments to qualified individuals who are dedicated to providing quality educational experiences to students in Associate’s, Bachelor’s, and Master’s degree programs. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals to work in a professional learning community where faculty contribute to and engage in instructional best practices for adult learners in an innovative, nontraditional university setting. Adjunct faculty have part-time teaching roles and may teach up to three courses per term, not to exceed ten courses per year. This role participates in professional development and may engage in faculty governance and curriculum work as needed. Additional service activities may be assigned. Scholarship is not required. Teaching assignments are contingent upon course schedules. Adjunct faculty are expected to deliver high-quality instruction and foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment conducive to student success. What to Expect in This Role Provide a student-centered learning environment to enable student success Teach synchronous or asynchronous seminars (10-week units) as assigned Maintain school-determined virtual office hours per week for each class Ensure timely management of electronic correspondence from students, administrators, and other University officials Lead message board discussions and engage students in coursework Partner with Academic Advisors to address student concerns Refer students who self-identify for ADA accommodations to Student Accessibility Services (SAS) and comply with all accommodations Maintain and submit accurate and timely reports for student grades/progress Deliver mid-term and final grades in accordance with the academic calendar Enforce student conduct policies as outlined in the University Catalog Attend University, departmental, and faculty meetings as requested Remain current with relevant trends, techniques, and educational technologies Perform additional duties as assigned by the School Experience Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related field (Doctorate preferred) 1–3 years of related practical/professional experience and/or training Online higher education teaching experience preferred What We’re Looking For Exceptional computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite, Google applications, and Zoom Experience with Brightspace education software preferred Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Dedication to student success and ability to engage and inspire students Ability to build strong working relationships across teams, departments, and Schools Ability to handle confidential information with discretion Additional Information Purdue Global will not sponsor employment authorization for this position Adjunct compensation varies per course based on student enrollment and program type Typical compensation: $2,800 per full 10-week course (School of General Education) Retirement account benefits include: Automatic 3% employer contribution to 403(b) plan Employer match up to 4% with participation in optional 457(b) plan This is a remote position; candidates must be based in and legally authorized to work in the U.S. Background check required Remote employees must have a reliable internet connection and a dedicated workspace Applicants must provide an unofficial transcript; official transcripts required upon hire FLSA Status: Exempt (Not Eligible for Overtime) Equal Opportunity Statement Purdue Global is an EEO/AA employer.
