We are seeking to appoint a research leader with talent and a proven track record in the development and application of digital tools and smart technologies in manufacturing, industrial processes and/or the built environment. This leader will help us to grow our research capability and further establish Teesside University's global reputation for distinctive, impactful research which makes a significant contribution to the lives, economies and communities we serve.


You will be expected to develop and lead your own research team within our renowned School of Science, Engineering and Design, whilst working collaboratively with colleagues both within the School and across the wider University to facilitate interdisciplinary external challenge led research.

You should have internationally recognised expertise in the development and application of digital tools and/ or smart technologies in manufacturing/industrial processes and/or the built environment. This may include, but would not be exclusive to: Industry 4.0/IoT; smart manufacturing; smart energy system and cities; building information modelling; automation and control; and product data management/product line engineering.


The University will seek to appoint at Professorial level, however, there may be an opportunity for candidates at an earlier career stage with outstanding potential to initially apply and be considered at Reader level with a view to progression to a Professorial position.
