The professorship should focus on the digital transformation of public administration in research and teaching. The user-oriented development and acceptance in eGovernment, the support of digitization projects with special consideration of ethical, legal and social aspects as well as artificial intelligence and big data play a central role.

We are looking for an internationally recognized personality with a broad range of teaching and research experience as well as high-quality and nationally and internationally visible scientific achievements. The professorship represents her field of research and teaching, develops it further and contributes to the international scientific profile of the department. With the professorship, the opportunity to set up a department in the Institute for Information Management Bremen (ifib) GmbH, a non-profit research institute at the University of Bremen, connected.

Required are high-level publications and project experience in the field of professorship. Likewise, relevant third-party experience with the DFG, the Federal Ministries, the EU and other renowned funding agencies (Fritz Thyssen Foundation, Volkswagen Foundation) is required.
 
The professorship is intended to cover courses in the core semesters and special courses in advanced semesters in the bachelor and master programs of the department (Computer Science, Business Informatics and Digital Media), especially in the form of project studies. The active promotion of young scientists through the establishment of a structured doctoral program is expected, participation in English-language study programs, initiatives and experimentation in digital teaching and contributions to internationalization are required.

The University expects the professorship to contribute to research funding through the acquisition of third-party funds, especially in collaborative research, and to actively participate in the transfer. The professorship is supported by the Senator for Finance (Digitalisation of Public Services) of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen and dataport AöR. Therefore, excellent cooperation opportunities exist with the Bremen administration. Corresponding projects are expressly desired.

The ability to offer events in German or English and the willingness to participate in academic self-government are assumed. Non-German-speaking applicants are expected to participate in German-language teaching after two years.

It is the special ability to scientific work, proven by a relevant academic studies, a relevant high-level doctorate and other outstanding achievements, such as. As part of a junior professorship, habilitation or junior research group leadership have been provided, provided. Expected are a pedagogical aptitude and the readiness for the didactic education. The appeal is made on the basis of § 18 BremHG and § 116 BremBG.
