The Department of Computer Science and Technology at the University of Cambridge invites applications for a Dowling Fellowship postdoctoral researcher, co-supervised by Professor Tom Gur and Dr Prakash Murali in the areas of quantum algorithms and complexity, quantum error correction, and quantum architecture. The role is part of a broader effort to advance theoretical and practical aspects of quantum computing.

About the position

The successful candidate will conduct cutting-edge research at the intersection of quantum computing theory and architecture, exploring topics such as:

Quantum algorithms and complexity: Investigating the power and limitations of quantum computation, sublinear quantum algorithms, and interactive proof systems.

Quantum error correction: Developing practically relevant quantum codes, fault-tolerant protocols, and connections to complexity theory.

Quantum architecture: Designing and analysing scalable architectures for fault-tolerant quantum computing.

There will also be the opportunity to collaborate with faculty members and PhD students, as well as engage with the broader quantum computing community at Cambridge.

Essential criteria

A PhD in Computer Science or relevant science subject area, and applicable research experience. More information on the requirements of the position can be found in the further particulars,
