The Professional Researcher title is given only to those who engage in independent research equivalent to that required for the Professor series. Appointments are subject to availability of funding and departmental needs. Screening of applicants is ongoing and will continue as needed. The number of positions varies depending on the needs of the department. Temporary research positions may vary from part-time to full-time and may range from short term to long term. Applicants must resubmit a new application letter each year beginning November 1 to retain eligibility. Please note: The use of temporary research titles pool does not guarantee that an open position exists at the time you are applying. See the “Next Review Date” specified in UC Recruit to learn whether the department is currently reviewing applicants for an upcoming opening. Applicants must have a PhD (or equivalent) or completed all requirements for a PhD except the dissertation at the time of application in engineering, or the physical or biological sciences. Additional qualifications (required at time of start)
