The Technische Universität Darmstadt is a leader in the field of cyber security and privacy protection. Our group focuses on all aspects of system and network security. Our research focuses on the Internet, critical infrastructures, business software and industrial control systems. We develop innovative cybersecurity and privacy protection solutions, also in cooperation with partners from industry and politics. Much of our research is done in cooperation with leading academic and industrial institutions around the world.

We are looking for highly motivated and qualified applicants to join our team, who have an excellent masters degree or diploma in computer science or related science, and who can demonstrate practical experience and solid knowledge in the field of cybersecurity, especially in the area of security Internet Protocols (such as: routing, naming, network time protocol, tunneling protocols), Web Security (including Client and Server Side and Secure Channel Protocols, SSL / TLS), Privacy Preserving Mechanisms (eg TOR), Malware Detection, Security of Emerging and future technologies (including IoT), critical infrastructures and defense against denial of service attacks.

Applicants must be self-motivated, performance-oriented and willing to actively engage in an international and cutting-edge research environment. Our working languages are German and English, because we cooperate with international teams in world leading universities, but we also expect German language skills at C1 level; If necessary, applicants are expected to improve their language skills by participating in intensive language training. We offer qualified employees the opportunity to work on a doctorate. Participation in university teaching is also expected.

Darmstadt is home to the largest research community on cybersecurity. We are a member of several research centers in Darmstadt: CRISP, DFG SFB CROSSING and DFG GRK Privacy and Trust for Mobile Users. We work very closely with the Fraunhofer Institute for Secure Information Technology SIT. The cooperation with Fraunhofer enables a unique, direct access to the requirements and problems of industry and society.

Opportunity to prepare for a doctorate is given. The provision of the service also serves the scientific qualification of the applicant.
